Fred is a 12 years old and came into the rescue in March 2017 with his bonded sister DIxie who is a Bassador. Their owners passed away and the family members could no longer care for them. Dixie has been diagnosed with mouth cancer and since they are a bonded pair, and Fred is 12 years old- he too is an angel dog so they can stay together in their foster home for the remainder of their days.
Fred has allergies for which he is on medication. He is also a very rotund lumpy basset hound. He is soooooo cute (look at that face). He absolutely LOVES people. Anyone that pays attention to him he will flop over for belly rubs anytime anywhere. He enjoys sleeping on the human bed as long as he is near my husband or me. The only issue with sleeping near his foster parents is he snores like a grizzly bear. He has discovered steps to get on the bed, but has not mastered going down the steps to get off the bed. His foster parents have to pick him up and put him on the floor ( I mean, an old 70lb basset cannot jump off a bed- ever). Fred is funny and we say in a previous life he was a cat because he grooms everyone, especially Dixie. He licks their faces and ears like a cat. All the dogs just let him do it. When he is away from Dixie or any of his crew he will whine and cry something fierce. He is such a loving, funny dog. He also loves cats!
